Heksa
Multifunctional furniture within the home.
Heksa is a group project working in close collaboration with BoConcept, aiming to design versatile personal objects for use in different contexts within the home. The piece is created to explore different modes of life, work and play within the home, with considerations taken to fit the manufacture and distribution process of BoConcept.
The final object was to incorporate a key element of 2 legs connected with a rail to create a seating and working surface using a combination of plywood, hardwood and bent-wood lamination. The piece addresses a wide demographic, ranging from 25 to 45 years of age, living in compact environments, and with the purchasing power of BoConcept customers.
Heksa addresses these issues by creating a central beam structure, complemented with modular seats which have the ability to be moved and placed around the home. This versatility allows Heksa to be used as a seating, working and playing surface by simply removing or adjusting the seat elements.
